Oak Grove Park consists of approximately 7 acres of land. The southern 3 acres feature a neighborhood ball field and roadway buffer areas. The northern 4 acres are wooded with old growth Bur Oak, Oak, and Hickory trees, along with other native species.
.In July 2009, a grant will be submitted to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for development of Oak Grove Park. The plan calls for a number of amenities to provide greater access and recreation opportunities including a 15 car parking lot, installation of an arboretum walk pathway, native fitness element and interpretive/information element, a sitting area for the pond, a covered group shelter, a mini-tot play area and additional landscaping and plantings. The project is scheduled for construction in the Summer of 2010.
