Revised Covid-19 Safety Protocols

The Illinois Department of Public Health has recently issued new safety guidelines which have brought forth the following adjustments to Burr Ridge Park District program policy.

Burr Ridge Community Center occupants will continue to be required to wear facemasks while indoors while maintaining social distancing of at least 3 feet.

For all outdoor programs, or times spent outdoors by BRCC occupants, face masks will not be required but remain optional. Staff will still be executing best safety practices to minimize close, sustained contact between participants in outdoor activities.

All other safety protocols previously listed, i.e. cleaning, symptom reporting, remain in place. These new adjustments are effective 6/15/21.

Current Operating Status for Parks

Outdoor parks and most of the amenities within are open and available for public usage.  All visitors are strongly encouraged to follow Illinois Department of Health guidelines with regards to appropriate Covid-19 safety protocol, social distancing and occupancy capacities.

Outdoor Restrooms at Harvester Park

Beginning June 7th, restrooms will resume regular hours of operation.  Facilities will be cleaned / sanitized daily.  Users of the facility are encouraged to observe state required social distancing and safety protocols.  Hand soap, hand sanitizer and paper towels will be made available.

Splash Pad at Harvester Park

Beginning June 7th, the splash pad will be operational from 9:00A.M. - 8:00P.M., seven days per week, until Labor Day weekend.

Group Gatherings

Assembled groups exceeding 15 persons, both youth and adults in this total, are not allowed to congregate without an authorizing permit from the Park District.  Under current park usage patterns, no such permits are being authorized.  This rule will be strictly enforced and your cooperation is appreciated.

Outdoor Shelter Rentals

Due to the site limitations of our two previously available shelters and the need for regular park visitors to be afforded space and opportunity to practice pandemic safety protocols, the Park District will not be renting out its outdoor shelters at Harvester Wetlands and Oak Grove Park for the remainder of 2021.

Should pandemic safety protocols and conditions change, the Park District reserves the right to adjust operational schedules of these facilities.
