About Burr Ridge Park District
The Burr Ridge Park District strives to promote quality living through quality leisure. To this end, the District emphasizes well maintained and equipped parks, playgrounds and open space, clean and efficient indoor facilities, comprehensive and diverse program opportunities, and a commitment to the wholesome well being of the community.
The District encompasses approximately 5.15 square miles, and serves a resident population of 7,400. Corporate boundaries include about 65% of the Village of Burr Ridge and portions of unincorporated DuPage County. It is governed by an elected Board of five park commissioners serving staggered six year terms.
The present park system includes twelve park sites totaling just over 79 acres. Throughout the system, a wide variety of recreational facilities and amenities are provided. The District’s community park, Harvester Park, is a 37 acre site featuring 17 acres of wetlands/prairie buffer and the 10,000 square foot Burr Ridge Community Center. The Woods Pool park site features a 90,000 gallon outdoor pool. Seven different playgrounds, featuring modern equipment and diverse creative play opportunities, are located throughout the park system.
The Park District offers a year round, comprehensive recreational program featuring hundreds of programs for all ages. Programs are located throughout the community, at park sites, Woods Pool, the Burr Ridge Community Center, and local schools. Additionally, the District offers Community Center rental accommodations for the community.
