About Burr Ridge Park District
Our mission is to promote quality living through quality leisure. To this end, we emphasize well maintained and equipped parks, playgrounds and open space, clean and efficient indoor facilities, comprehensive and diverse program opportunities, and a commitment to the wholesome well-being of our community.
The District’s boundaries encircle about 5.15 square miles serving approximately 7,500 residents, including about 65% of the Village of Burr Ridge. A separate unit of government, it is led by five elected Board of Park Commissioners serving staggered six year terms.
Our park system includes twelve park sites totaling just over 79 acres. These properties consist of neighborhood parks and one community park, including an outdoor swimming pool and 15,000 square foot community center.
The Burr Ridge Community Center is a beautiful, rustic programming facility that houses many of the District’s daily programs, events, activities and groups. Burr Ridge Park District is well known for providing high quality, diverse programming for the community and beyond.
Harvester Park is the District’s community park and is one of the better known destination parks within the Chicago Metropolitan Area. With its many unique and diverse recreational activities, we can virtually guarantee a very active two hour plus visit opportunity for you and your family. Visit our “parks” tab for more details about Harvester Park and fly the drone aerial tour of the Harvester playground on the home page.
